A classic Maltese pie that stood the test of time

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Golden drop olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 4 small potatoes
  • Meat seasoning
  • 2 tbsp curry
  • 100g peas
  • 4 strips pork belly
  • Half cabbage
  • 2 acqua & farina brisee pastry

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a pan and fry garlic and onion

Add the seasoned pork belly strips an cook until brown

Add the curry, carrot, peas and cabbage.

Cover and cook for 15-20mins

Add the potatoes and cook for further 20mins or until potatoes are tender

Add water if needed

Layer a dish with 1 acqua & farina brisee pastry

Add the meat filling

Cover with another acqua & farina brisee pastry

10

Cook for 25mins at 200C
