This is sooo delicious. Made with bread dough (very important) and not pizza dough this is a traditional tasty type of 'pizza' particularly known as Gozitan Ftira. You might also want to add some fresh Maltese cheeslet as a topping.

Ingredients

  • 300g ricotta
  • 100g broad beans
  • pizza dough
  • salt & pepper
  • nutmeg
  • 200g onions
  • 200g pork belly
  • smoked spice powder or your favourite mix
  • flour
  • 400g BREAD dough
  • parchment paper
  • sesame seeds

Instructions

Add ricotta in a bowl

add half of the broad beans and mix

season with salt and pepper

add nutmeg and mix

Fry onion

add pork belly and season with spice powder

cook until nearly done

add half of the mixture to the ricotta mixture

open dough and stretch

cover dough with ricotta and pork mixture

top up with remaining pork mixture and remaining beans

sprinkle sesame seeds on top

bake at 190c for 45 minutes

Notes

It is important to note that for this recipe to be authentic you need to use bread dough not pizza dough.
